Overview:
Pafford Medical Services is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk I to support the daily operations of the accounting department. This entry-level position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and basic accounting knowledge. The primary responsibilities include filing, document management, and accurate data entry into QuickBooks Desktop.
Key Responsibilities
Data Entry:

Enter invoices, receipts, bills, and other financial information into QuickBooks Desktop.

Ensure accuracy of coding, dates, and cost center assignments.

Assist with updating vendor and customer information in the system.
Filing & Document Management:

Organize and maintain paper and electronic financial records.

File invoices, receipts, statements, and supporting documentation in a timely manner.

Retrieve documents as requested by accounting staff or auditors.
Accounts Payable/Receivable Support:

Match invoices to purchase orders and packing slips.

Prepare payment packets for review.

Assist with scanning, copying, and distributing accounting documents.
General Administrative Support:

Respond to routine inquiries from internal departments.

Assist with mail sorting, handling, and document routing.

Support the accounting team with basic tasks during month-end or audit preparation.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; coursework in accounting or bookkeeping preferred.

Prior experience in data entry, office administration, or basic accounting duties is a plus.

Familiarity with QuickBooks Desktop preferred but not required (training provided).

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and basic computer skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
